Kicking goals for brain cancer – $25k worth of goals to be exact
What an incredible round of footy!
Thanks to the South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) we raised an incredible $25,000 for brain matters last Sunday July 30.
As SMJFL’s charity partner we were so excited for the inaugural Connor’s Beanie round, in which all 25 teams in the league took part.
Thanks to all the players, coaches, team managers, goal umpires, runners, trainers and supporters who made a gold coin donation or purchased a beanie we were able to raise a whopping $25k for brain matters in just one day!
SMJFL has been a huge supporter of the Robert Connor Dawes (RCD) Foundation and is very close to our heart, with both Connor’s brother and sister playing throughout their childhood years.
We had a lot of fun and even had support on the day from superstars Shane Crawford and Dave Hughes, plus amazing support from AFL players across the country including Andrew McGrath, Josh Kelly and Jack Gunston.
