Rugby star Sean McMahon joins RCD

2016 is off to a great start as we welcome our newest ambassador, Sean McMahon!

Born just days apart from Connor, and only 21 years old, Sean has become a star player of the Melbourne Rebels since his debut in February 2014. This talented athlete was the youngest ever player to play for the Australian Sevens team in 2011, made his Wallabies debut in 2014 and was selected again to be apart of the 2015 World Cup team.

“After hearing about Connor’s story, his hobbies and love for the sport of rugby, I wanted to get on board with the RCD Foundation. I’m excited to do what I can to spread the word about Brain Cancer!” – Sean McMahon.

This is a particularly special ambassadorship for the Foundation as Connor himself was a passionate rugby player. Stemming from his time spent living in New Zealand when he was young, Connor’s love for the sport has been immortalised through the Brighton Grammar ‘Spirit of Rugby’ award in his name.

“We are delighted to have Sean join the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation as our newest Ambassador. Connor was a keen rugby player and this is a wonderful connection to something he loved. Its great having Sean’s young, positive energy to help us continue to raise much needed awareness for paediatric brain cancer.” – Liz Dawes

Sean joins the distinguished team of RCD ambassadors including Lisa McCune, James Tomkins and Olivia Wells.
