ROW YOUR HEART OUT FOR BRAIN CANCER
We are challenging rowing teams from all around the world to give heart and brawn to raise much needed funds for childhood brain cancer: the #1 cancer killer of young people.
Hosted by the Robert Connor Dawes (RCD) Foundation, Connor’s Erg is a virtual 100km Erg challenge that started between rowing teams at Universities across the United States and has now expanded to the top rowing squads around the world.
ROWING BEHIND THE ROBERT CONNOR DAWES FOUNDATION
Connor was Wisconsin born (1994) but Australian raised (2000-2013). Apart from academics which he easily excelled at, his passion was rowing. He began rowing at 14 as a student at Brighton Grammar School in Melbourne Australia. He took the PSAT in year 10 and became a member of the Natl Society of High School Scholars for scoring over 200. He applied to 2 schools to receive further information – Wisconsin and Stanford. He was invited to attend Stanford summer school and received his invitation the day before his surgery. Connor loved to row and at nearly 6’3″, had the raw strength and passion that made him hard to beat. Coupled with his bright mind Connor was determined to study and row at one of these schools, until brain cancer robbed him of the chance.
“Support from events like Connor’s Erg helps to spur innovative research, because that kind of flexible funding provides brain tumor scientists with the ability to test new hypotheses and go in new scientific directions..”

FUNDRAISING FOR BRAIN MATTERS
Pediatric brain cancer is the #1 cancer killer of children in the US and Australia. It is on the verge of exciting research breakthroughs but falls short of funding required. 50% of the funds raised at each school will go towards each University’s neuro-science department at Lucille Packard Foundation in Palo Alto, and the Wisconsin Children’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
We’re looking for Connor’s Erg sponsors for 2022. If you’d like to get involved, please reach out to email@example.com
