CERN Foundation – RCD Paediatric Fellowship Announcement

We are excited to announce the call for application for the second Robert Connor Dawes Pediatric Fellowship. The CERN Foundation has partnered again with the RCD Foundation to provide support for a pediatric fellowship that supports training opportunities for scientists working in ependymoma, with the goal of advancing the science in this area and to encourage pediatric ependymoma research.

The fellowship is formally known as the Robert Connor Dawes Pediatric Ependymoma Research Fellowship. Dr. Claire King was the 2018-2019 fellowship recipient and has done a fantastic job with her research efforts.

The applicant must have received a PhD (or equivalent research degree) or other professional degrees such as an M.D., or D.V.M., and be nominated by a host institution that has an established ependymoma research program. This host institution must explicitly express a willingness to supervise the training and research experience of the fellow during this period.

This fellowship will provide two years of funding for a promising postdoctoral researcher who has the potential to become a productive, independent investigator within the broad scope of biomedical research focused in ependymoma.

The second year of funding is considered through competitive renewal based on submission of required progress reports during the first year. It is expected that the fellow and host institution will submit a six month and end of year report on their activities, findings, and publications resulting from the fellowship in writing. All reports must be submitted within three months of fellowship completion.

You can find the application here and the deadline to submit is September 9, 2019.
